Elaine retired from the public sector after delivering 32 years of therapy to students demonstrating a wide variety of communication needs in Glencoe District 35, Woodland District 50, Zion District 6 and Lake Zurich District 95.
Still fresh and excited about school after all these years, Elaine joined the Alexander Graham Bell Montessori School community. She has been working with children who are deaf/hoh and/or have speech and language delays. She is proficient in Cued Speech and has immersed herself into the Montessori approach to instruction, which she strongly advocates.
Elaine is married to Dr. Jay Howe, a retired public-school assistant superintendent. They have one son, Alexander. Alex teaches Physics and Engineering Technology at New Trier High School and his wife Amanda is an English as a Second Language teacher in Wheaton.
