Outreach

The Cued Speech Outreach Programs of AGBMS/AEHI include the following:

  • Information and advocacy for families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. As a special service to these families, AEHI offers, free of charge, a copy of the book, “Choices in Deafness,” by Sue Schwartz. Order this book.
  • Coordination of a training program for transliterators (interpreters) to facilitate mainstreaming of students into local school programs.
  • Teacher training in the use of Cued Speech and other techniques for improving language acquisition.
  • Occasionally AGBMS/AEHI will provide a Cued Speech Summer Camp for families and professionals.  Information will be posted on this website from time to time regarding these camps.  Please contact us via phone to inquire further on this topic. 
  • Research and presentations to specialists and professionals at the local and national levels.
  • Speakers’ Bureau for community awareness.
  • Early Intervention programs for parents of children under two years of age who have been diagnosed as deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Consultation with school districts developing Cued Speech programs to improve literacy outcomes.
