AGBMS is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, governed by a board of directors. Information on our board follows. Sandy Mosetick, President Sandy Mosetick, AGBMS Board President graduated in 1978 from the University of Illinois in Champaign Urbana with a BS in Accounting and is a CPA. She worked for six years at Arthur Andersen & Co. as an auditor and then as an information systems consultant. She was employed for two years at Northern Trust Bank as a Trust Systems Project Manger, and for four years was a self-employed information systems consultant. In 2004, Sandy obtained a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from William Rainey Harper College in Palatine. Sandy’s daughter, Rachel, was born in 1990 and diagnosed with severe-to-profound sensorineural hearing loss at the age of one. When Rachel turned three, Sandy began volunteering for Alternatives in Education for the Hearing Impaired (AEHI) and Alexander Graham Bell Montessori School. She has donated countless hours as a fundraiser, an advocate for families with deaf children, a bookkeeper/accountant, a database designer and project manager for AGBMS’s site acquisition and building project. Sandy is also a Certified Cued Speech Instructor. Sandy has been the President of the Board of AGBMS since its incorporation in April of 2005. She also was on the Board of AEHI when AGBMS was a program of that organization, for 13 years, in the roles of board member, vice president, and president. Dan Konopacki, AGBMS Board Treasurer
?>Dan Konopacki has over 20 years experience in Commercial Lending and Private Equity combined. As a Commercial Lender Dan managed relationships with Middle Market Borrowers totaling $300MM in Direct Loans. His experience includes Auditing, Underwriting, Managing, and Workout Programs. In Private Equity Dan Sourced and arranged financing for middle market acquisition opportunities. Dan has a Bachelors Degree in Economics, a Masters Degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant. Patrick Maag, AGBMS Board Member Patrick Maag is the director of bands at ?> Patrick and his wife are residents of “AGBMS is an outstanding school with an exceptionally dedicated staff. It is a school that truly believes in the Montessori method and works hard at putting the child first. I am truly proud of the education my children are receiving at AGBMS.” Deanna Jordan, AGBMS Board Member Deanna has a BA from Deanna also serves on the NCSA (Nation Cued Speech Association) Board as an "at-large" member for exhibits and conferences and continues to serve as a consultant to AGBMS for their special needs/deaf and hard of hearing students. Bridget Chavez, AGBMS Board Member Bridget has worked for 2 years at CVS Caremark Co. where she is a Manager of Industry Relations with a focus on Specialty Drug contract implementations and rebates. Bridget has many years experience in the corporate sector with strong ties in both the Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing industries. Bridget has 5 year old twins who attended Alexander Graham Bell Montessori both for their Our Nest and Children’s House education before moving on to Pre-K to begin their religious based education. Bridget and her family have donated their time for various needs and projects around the school. “I continue to support AGBMS as I believe in the contributions they make to the Deaf community with Cued Speech programs. The teachers and staff have a strong commitment to the school and in developing a welcoming sense of community. AGBMS is an environment that becomes your family and this becomes reflective in your child’s love and excitement to come to school every day! I am glad to have given my children such a great foundation as in their current school they are achieving well beyond their age level. AGBMS is a mission driven school with a staff driven to teach Montessori education and values.” Ed Chen, AGBMS Board Member Ed is the Director of Catering Operations at the Hilton Chicago. He works with many of the Top Corporate Clients in the country with budgetary values in excess of $1M. For over 20 years Ed has managed a staff of more than 150 people. Ed is responsible for the day to day operation of a $31 million catering business. He prepares the annual and monthly forecast, all marketing and strategic planning and monitors bonus plans. He is also a key member of The Executive Committee. Ed worked in numerous companies in the hospitality industry. He was the Director of Catering and Events at the Drake Hotel, Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Vista - Oklahoma City, Assistant General Manager at Canteen at the Hilton United Nations, Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Kuwait Hilton, Restaurant and Room Service Manager at the Hilton Dubai and Banquet Captain at the Oberoi Sheraton. Ed has been happily married for over 30 years to a wonderful wife Glenys with whom he has two children, Sacha and Kerri. Sacha was born deaf and was one of the first students to attend and graduate from AGBMS. By attending AGBMS Sacha learned techniques which improved his literacy rates, speech and listening skills. “It is an honor and a privilege for me to be a member of an organization that can make a positive change in our children lives.”
