Awards and Affiliations

|
Affiliations with institutions of higher education. The Alexander Graham Bell Montessori School serves as an official practicum and observation site for Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University and National Louis University. We are also designated as a model school by the American Montessori Society.
Award-winning “green” building. Our building was designed and built according to standards set by the U.S. Green Building Council for LEED certified buildings. We received a $50,000 grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation for our “green” design as well as a Community Enhancement Award from the Wheeling/Prospect Heights Chamber of Commerce for our environmental awareness.
National and state Montessori affiliations. Affiliated with the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Association of Illinois Montessori Schools (AIMS). All teachers are certified by the American Montessori Society and/or the Illinois State Board of Education.
Recognized special service programs. Recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education under section 14-7.02 for Eligibility of Nonpublic Programs to Serve Students with Disabilities
Licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services. Our program for two-year-olds is licensed by DCFS.
Chamber of Commerce membership. Member of the Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce since 1988 and, most recently, member of Wheeling/Prospect Heights Chamber of Commerce
