What is Montessori?
A creative approach to music for children ages 3 and up using a Suzuki-Orff approach. Through experiences in song and instrumental play, children are guided through the fundamentals in rhythm, melody, harmony, form and timbre to create their own musical patterns.
In a class setting children are encouraged to explore nursery rhymes, body percussion and simple song material as well as the traditional Orff instruments: glockenspiels, xylophones, metallophones and percussion.
Involvement in these activities enables children to become aware not only of music, but of music as an integral part of their life experience.
