The AGBMS toddler program helps your child adjust from a family setting into the classroom. The prepared environment of a toddler classroom is a natural extension of the home. The caring teachers provide a nurturing, safe, and comfortable environment that ignites the curiosity of the young child. Children are free to play, learn, and explore at their own pace. We also educate the parent to understand the child at this age.
CURRICULUM
The materials and activities offered in the toddler classroom foster the natural desire a toddler has to be independent and self-confident. Your child will soon learn to take pride in the ability to “do it by myself,” as he or she masters the practical life activities such as: hand washing, pouring, food preparation and dishwashing. Children can choose from a variety of activities ranging from color-matching, blocks, “talking on the telephone,” baby washing, to art projects. A toddler’s sensitivity to language is addressed by encouraging them to talk with friends and express themselves verbally. This socialization occurs while children prepare and enjoy a nutritious snack and lunch together. Line time includes stories and songs as well as gross motor and movement activities. Gross motor skills are also developed during daily playground time. Familiarity with the bathroom and proper toileting skills are introduced at this age.< Previous Page Next Page >
